Frequently asked questions.

How is emotional health consulting different than therapy?

Emotional health consulting is non-clinical and does not involve diagnosing or treating mental health disorders. I am not a licensed therapist, and I do not provide psychotherapy or work with specialized clinical areas such as active suicidal ideation, self-harm, eating disorders, or other areas that require specialized therapeutic care.

This work focuses on supporting emotional regulation, nervous system flexibility, self-awareness, and healing at the root of painful patterns and beliefs. Clients often gain tools to navigate the effects of hard experiences, access safety and compassion more easily, and repair the relationship they have with themselves. While this work may support emotional healing processes that can complement therapeutic work, it is not a substitute for therapy.

I am trained to recognize when additional or specialized support is needed, and if so, I will recommend working alongside a licensed professional. My priority is always that clients receive the best level of care for their unique needs.

What is your training?

I have completed two years of training in the trauma-informed Life Consulting Master Class (LCMC) school through Stumvoll Consulting. This program focuses on developing consulting skills while also being deeply centered on personal transformation, with a strong emphasis on experiential emotional health work.

The training includes extensive coursework, reading, live virtual classes and small groups, shadowing, practice consulting, feedback, and supervision by experienced consultants within the program. A significant emphasis of LCMC is learning to work experientially with others using approaches informed by the nervous system, compassion, and autonomy.

In addition to formal training, I have personally engaged in this work and experienced its impact in my own life, which deeply informs how I support others. I am currently continuing my professional development through the LCMC Mastermind program, with a particular focus on furthering my training in nervous system- and somatic-informed work.

What services do you currently offer?

At this time, I offer 60-minute individual Emotional Health Consulting sessions. These sessions provide space for experiential emotional health work, nervous system support, and compassionate exploration of emotional patterns.

I plan to expand offerings in the future, including workshops or speaking opportunities, as this work continues to grow.

Do you meet with clients in-person or virtually?

Currently, I meet with clients virtually only.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance, and I am not able to provide superbills. Emotional Health Consulting is a non-clinical, self-pay service.

If you have questions about pricing, session structure, or whether this type of support may be a good fit for you, feel free to contact me. I’m happy to talk through that with you before getting started.

Do I need to be a Christian to meet with you?

No — While many of my clients are Christians, I deeply value creating space for wherever people are in their spiritual journey. There are many ways individuals can access this healing work regardless of their faith background. For most of my own emotional healing journey I did not feel that God was safe, and yet I was able to receive healing and love from this work.

I’m interested in emotional health consulting as a Christian, but I’m wondering how God is related to this work?

Such a good question! Something I’ve learned and believe is that wherever there is true love and truth God is there. He is not compartmentalized to a particular part of our lives, but He is with us in all things - in the mundane, when we are with others, when we marvel at His creation, and more. This includes the emotional part of who we are.

When we start to see how our bodies have been made with the capacity and pathways to process through the pain in this life, we can see intentionality, hope, and ultimately the love of God. Additionally, when we are able to use the ways our body has been equipped to learn to let love in deeper into places we’ve experienced pain, we learn to receive God’s love deeper instead of living out of survival and protection towards love when we are stuck in cycles of performance, fear, shame, and overwhelm.

Personally, emotional health consulting has given me some of the greatest tools to practically live a life more fully aligned to the hope, joy, peace, and freedom that Christianity promises to give. It is because of this, I believe so strongly that God is in this work.
